From Huaraz & Caraz the Ca隳n del Pato is a spectacular route which passes through around 40 tunnels, overlooking the Santa Valley, before reaching the Pacific coast at Santa, near Chimbote. From Chimbote it is possible to visit Cerro Sechin to the south,  (Photo of warrior & victims at Cerro Sech璯 from Promperu) & continue north to Trujillo, Chiclayo & Cajamarca. All have airports & buses back to Lima, further north up the coast, & there are roads up into the highlands & beyond to the jungle. |  The Chav璯 de Huant嫫 World Heritage Archaeological site can be visited in a one day round trip from Huaraz.

(RPP Noticias) Un grupo de investigadores de la Universidad de Stanford, EEUU, descubri?restos arqueol鏬icos de unos 10 mil a隳s de antigdad en la zona de Chav璯 de Huantar, en la provincia de Huari, en el departamento de Ancash. Los restos arqueol鏬icos fueron hallados en el centro de la Plaza de Armas del distrito de Chav璯 de Huantar donde se iba a levantar la infraestructura de un Centro C癉ico para la Ciudad.
